Who are you?

 

We are seeking a Data Scientist to join the Enterprise Reporting and Analytics team within the larger Transformation Management organization in Personify Health. This role focuses on advanced analytics, machine learning, and data-driven insights to improve member outcomes, engagement, claims processing, and cost management. The ideal candidate will have expertise in healthcare data, statistical analysis, and predictive modeling to enhance benefits administration, as well as a passion for improving the health and wellbeing of our clients’ employees.

 

The role requires a self-directed data scientist with strong skills in data modeling, analysis, and visualization to execute projects from start to finish. Responsibilities include building datasets, conducting analysis, creating reports, and communicating findings to stakeholders. The candidate must thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and leadership, and possess excellent interpersonal skills.

 

In this role you will wear many hats, but your knowledge will be essential in the following:  

  • Design, conduct, and manage new analytical projects, starting with project planning, hypothesis development, and data gathering, then to analysis and modeling, and through to communications and recommendations
  • Leverage existing studies, literature, and analyses into current research and analysis projects.
  • Write Python, R, and SQL programs to access, clean, and transform required data prior to analysis and reporting.
  • Troubleshoot and perform data audits to ensure and improve data integrity; investigate and resolve data discrepancies
  • Develop and deliver analysis results using various visualization and presentation software/tools, such as R/Toolkit, MicroStrategy, MS PowerPoint, MS Word, etc.
  • Consult and collaborate with Product, Reporting, Analytics, and Account Management team members to ensure appropriate data is analyzed. The results are provided in a format consistent with standard and customized client reporting services.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analysis using various analytical tools and techniques, including advanced statistics.
  • Support Sales, Marketing, and Client Success staff with Personify clients and prospects by directly communicating on data and analytics processes and projects, as well as the results of analyses
  • Work with departmental processes, projects, and programs using Smartsheet, MS, and Atlassian toolsets to keep projects and milestones on schedule, our collaborative and internal work organized as well as externally facing documentation comprehensive, updated, and accessible

Qualifications

What you bring to the Personify Health team:

 

In order to represent the best of what we have to offer you come to us with a multitude of positive attributes including:

  • A bachelor's degree in statistics, computer science, economics, or a related field or equivalent experience; Further advanced degree is a plus
  • 3+ years of experience in data science, with a strong focus on healthcare benefits, claims analytics, or health insurance.
  • Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and Microsoft Office products.
  • Experience with healthcare claims data (e.g., medical, pharmacy, dental), risk models, and program evaluation statistical methodologies such as propensity score matching and difference in differences analyses.
  • Familiarity with predictive modeling, AI/ML algorithms, and working with large datasets.
  • Understanding of healthcare regulations (HIPAA, ACA, CMS rules).
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills with the ability to translate technical findings into business strategies.
