We’relooking for a Director of Marketing to lead the marketing vision for The Dial Press—home to bestselling narrative nonfiction, voice-driven book club fiction, and the Dial Delights romance program. As the lead marketer for The Dial Press,youllset strategy and execute campaigns, steward the imprints social presence, and work in close partnership with authors, agents, and cross-functional teams to build long-term author and imprint equity.Werea small, collaborative, and creative group, looking for someone who is energized by our books and eager to build our platforms and meet our sales goals. The ideal candidate will havea track recordof impactful campaigns, will know how to meet readers where they are, experiment withnew approaches, feel comfortable setting goals, measuring conversion/sales, and managing budgets.

Reporting to the VP, Executive Director of Marketing for Random House and supervising one direct report, the director will be essential in building readership for our authors, which include, Allegra Goodman, Lyla Sage, Belle Burden, Cara Bastone, Ann Napolitano and more.  

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Campaign Strategy: Drive marketing campaigns for a broad list of fiction and nonfiction titles, combining big-picture planning with hands-on digital and social execution.
  • Author & Agent Collaboration: Partner with authors and agents to create custom, thoughtful campaigns that highlight each author’s voice and expand the reach of their work.
  • Brand & Social Leadership: Shape and manage The Dial Press social channels, focusing on community growth and a clear, distinctive imprint voice.
  • Stakeholder Alignment: Build strong working relationships across editorial, publishing, sales, leadership, authors, and agents to align priorities and keep campaigns on track.
  • Insights & Optimization: Turn audience insights, market trends, and sales data into actionable strategy, setting clear goals and refining tactics to improve performance.

  • Experience:1015 years of title marketing experience
  • Skills:Strong strategic thinking and creative campaign development skills; excellent written and verbal communication, relationship-building, and presentation skills; outstanding organizational ability and the capacity to prioritize and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Proficiencies:Expertisein Excel, PowerPoint, and Canva. Knowledge of Adobe Workfront and Creative Suite is a plus.

The salary range for this position is $95,000 - $110,000 for Directorand will be based on level of experience and proven marketing success in the trade publishing industry. All positions are currently eligible for annual profit award,subject to company results.

This hybrid position has occasional in-office responsibilities, including but not limited to in-office meetings, author visits or events, and daily ad hoc administrative projects. We will consider candidates who can work from a commutable distance to our offices at 1745 Broadway, which includes the tri-state area (NJ, CT, & PA).
