The Heavy Equipment Operator/Plant Maintenance position will analyze malfunctions and repairs, as well as rebuild and maintain crushing, screening, and conveyor systems. This person will also perform various maintenance duties in the plant and pit.   Pay: Up to $26.54/HR Shift/Schedule: Day Shift, 5-6 Days/Week

Responsibilities

The Equipment Operator will:

• Use machinery to regulate the flow, quality, and size of materials to and from conveyors, crushers, and screens
• Inspecting and equipment to locate the causes of malfunctions
• Service plant and pit equipment as needed (e.g. minor adjustments and lubrication).
• Operate mobile equipment such as excavator, bulldozer, loader, skid steer, water truck and crane
• Keep the work area clean and tidy
• Repair and replace defective parts
• Weld and fabricate various equipment and parts
• Shovel aggregate under conveyors and around the plant
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Skills  The ideal candidate will have:

• Ability to Lift up to 50 lbs
• Knowledge of equipment (e.g., conveyor lines, crusher, hot plant, wash plant, conveyor lines)
• Knowledge of materials and specification requirements
• Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, climb or crawl under or on top of equipment or at elevated heights
• Ability to manipulate components in hard-to-reach places with hands or tools
• Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal format individually and in group settings
• Ability to work in an environment with noise and temperature variations
• Ability to work around water
• Valid Driver’s license
