Your opportunity:

As a Business Process Improvement (BPI) Specialist I, you will identify, define, manage, and track process improvement efforts within the business unit. This will include, but is not limited to, defining current business processes, system utilization and the exploration of new processes and tools. You will provide direct support to marketing, engineering, and manufacturing, helping with initiatives to increase productivity, increase capacity, shorten lead times, reduce costs and errors and standardize products and processes. The BPI Specialist will help lead the business unit to further utilize the current set of system tools, as well as develop new and more productive ways to use the various systems. This position is a critical link between our corporate IT teams and everyday business unit operations.

 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Work with Business Unit Managers to develop and prioritize an on-going list of projects.
  • Participate in or lead several projects that relate directly to customer satisfaction, productivity gains and/or cost savings.   
  • Work with marketing, engineering and manufacturing to define bottlenecks and other opportunities for improvement within the Business Unit through the use of process mapping.
  • Work closely with systems teams to assist in the definition of system requirements to support process improvements.
  • Participate in safety, 5S, kaizen and Lean initiatives.
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Audit existing business processes to ensure documented procedures and best practices are being followed. Provide training on procedures when needed.
  • Understand the various needs of the Business Unit and work closely with teams to analyze and determine the feasibility of project improvement options.
  • Works closely with and develops working relationship with all levels of organization, from individual contributors to department leadership and third-party partners.

What you should have:

  • Required High School Diploma or GED
  • Preferred 4 Year / Bachelor Degree
  • 0-2 years of relevant work experience is required
  • 2-4 years of relevant work experience is preferred
  • SAP Experience is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills are preferred for this role
  • Supply Chain Management experience is preferred
  • Lean experience is preferred
  • Experience in warehouse and distribution operations safety, quality, & productivity is preferred
