Join Mizuho as an IT Equity Finance Lead!

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to lead the strategic development and management of platforms supporting Structured Equity Finance and Swaps, including:

  • Equity Swaps, DMA to Swap
  • Funding, Liquidity Management
  • Securities Borrow/Loan
  • Real Time Front Office Risk Management
  • Reg U Margin Loans, Workflow Management
  • Credit Facilities backed by Multi-Asset Portfolios
  • Basis Trading (Equities, Crypto, etc.)
     

This role demands a visionary leader with deep domain expertise and a strong technical foundation to drive platform innovation, ensure robust integration with trading and risk systems, and enhance operational efficiency and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will have 10+ years of financial technology experience, with a proven track record in building and managing complex systems across equity financing product lines.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Technology Strategy & Leadership
    • Define and own the technology roadmap for synthetic prime and securities lending platforms.
    • Lead design, development, and platforms using both in-house development and third-party vendor solutions.
    • Collaborate with trading and business stakeholders to align technology initiatives with strategic goals.
  • Platform Architecture & Development
    • Architect and implement scalable systems for synthetic prime, equity swaps, and stock loan.
    • Ensure seamless integration with trading, risk, finance, and operations platforms.
    • Provide technical leadership on technology stack selection, system design, and data architecture.
    • Strengthen risk and control frameworks for trade lifecycle processes including booking, reconciliation, margining, and settlement.
  • Team & Stakeholder Management
    • Lead and mentor development and support teams.
    • Foster strong partnerships with trading desks, operations, risk, and compliance teams.
    • Manage vendor relationships for third-party platforms and integration.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 10+ years in financial technology with direct experience in Equity Financing across Swap , D1 Trading, Margin Loan,  Real Time Risk Management , Workflow tools.
     
  • Domain Expertise: Strong understanding of Margin Loans, Credit Facilities, Equity Swaps, D1 Trading, Equity Borrow/Loan, Funding, Real-Time Risk/Margin, Pricing , Workflow tools etc
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead global teams, influence senior stakeholders, and deliver enterprise-scale solutions.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value.
  • Development experience is a plus.

Technology Stack and Tools:

  • Modern programming languages and software engineering best practices (e.g. Java, Python…)
  • Relational and NoSQL databases
  • Messaging and streaming platforms for distributed systems (e.g.Kafka, MQ…)
  • Cloud infrastructure and container orchestration (e.g. Azure, Kubernetes..)
  • CI/CD pipelines and DevOps automation (e.g. Jenkins, Gitlab…)
  • Monitoring, logging, and observability tools

Targeted systems:

  • Nuvo Prime, Murex, Broadridge, FIS, IHS Markit, Clearpool,
  • Risk & Analytics: QuantLib, OpenGamma, Numerix,

The expected base salary ranges from $200k-$275k. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
