This position is 100% onsite at our Bohemia, NY office.

Salary Range for this position is 160, 000 -200,000 depending on experience.

This position requires a U.S Person or a person who can qualify for a Department of State or Department of Commerce License.

Position Summary:

DDC is currently seeking a Director of Quality Assurance. The Director will establish the overall strategy and direction for achieving world-class quality levels as measured by our customers. This position will instill a culture of continuous improvement throughout our organization. The primary responsibility of this position is to assure regulatory compliance and conformance to our customer’s quality standards. This position will report directly to the VP of Engineering.

Key Position Accountabilities:

  • Quality Management System Oversight: Administer and maintain DDC’s Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring compliance with industry standards and company policies.
  • Leadership & Team Development: Lead and mentor the Quality Assurance team, including Quality Engineers, Inspectors, and Technicians. Provide coaching and guidance to foster professional growth and technical excellence.
  • Process Improvement: Oversee quality-related processes with a focus on continuous improvement, identifying potential issues before they arise, and resolving production-related problems to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
  • Supplier Quality Management: Define and implement processes for qualifying and auditing suppliers in collaboration with Supply Chain. Ensure suppliers meet quality standards and address deficiencies through corrective actions (CAR and 8D reports).
  • Customer & Vendor Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for quality-related issues with customers and vendors. Collaborate with both parties to resolve technical and product quality concerns.
  • Documentation & Procedures: Develop, review, and revise work instructions, procedures, and other documentation to support quality processes, including inspection, calibration, and qualification.
  • Internal Audits & Corrective Actions: Manage internal audit programs, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations. Drive the implementation of corrective actions and process improvements.
  • Non-Conformance Management: Oversee the non-conformance tracking system, analyzing data, generating reports, and driving corrective actions to reduce defects and improve product quality.
  • Material Review Board (MRB): Lead the MRB process to ensure timely and effective resolution of product non-conformities.
  • Calibration & Static Awareness: Ensure all instruments and equipment are calibrated according to procedures and regulatory requirements. Ensure compliance with static awareness policies, including periodic audits.
  • Capital Equipment Planning: Provide input for the annual capital equipment plan, identifying needs to support production capacity and efficiency.
  • Technical Support for Vendors: Provide quality assessment support for vendors, ensuring they meet DDC’s quality standards and requirements.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with customers and vendors on sensitive technical issues.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships across various levels of the organization.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to exercise sound judgment under pressure.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, including the ability to motivate, guide, and develop staff.
  • Proficient in quality performance monitoring and assessment, with a keen eye for identifying areas of improvement.
  • Expertise in managing corrective actions, root cause analysis, and continuous process improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. An MBA is highly preferred.
