SailPoint's finance team plays a crucial role in providing support, guidance and collaboration across all organizations within the company to aid in SailPoint's mission to continue to remain an innovative presence in the cybersecurity world.

Our Technical Accounting team is looking for a Senior Manager to own the technical accounting process. This is a highly visible position within the business, that will give you hands-on experience across emerging technical accounting issues for the company. We are looking for a highly motivated, eager to learn individual who can help streamline and improve our processes as we grow and scale.

General milestones expected within the successful candidates' first year:

Within the first month:
You will be trained on SailPoint systems and processes and work with the team on understanding the financial close process including financial statement preparation. You will be introduced to other stakeholder within the accounting and finance teams in order to build cross functional relationships.

Within 3 months:
You will have a thorough knowledge of the financial close process including the various teams that provide information as part of the financial statement preparation process. You will understand key financial deadlines and the lead in process for achieving those deadlines.

Within 1 year:
You will own the financial statement close process. You will have reviewed the financial statement control process and implemented any needed changes based on the evolution of the business and any new regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with research and preparation of technical accounting memos

  • Ensure revenue accounting policies are documented and applied consistently

  • Review software agreements and ensure proper revenue recognition treatment

  • Support stand-alone selling price analysis

  • Draft financial statement disclosures

  • Manage SOX compliance

  • Work closely with external auditors to manage technical accounting topics in the annual audit process

  • Ensure internal controls regarding technical accounting areas are adequate and operating effectively

  • Participate in monthly/quarterly financial close review meetings to ensure appropriate accounting of transactions and accurate external reporting

  • Participate in special projects and ad hoc requests as needed

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited university

  • CPA and public accounting experience required (Big 4 preferred)

  • 7-10 years' accounting experience within Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting

  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and Software Revenue Recognition

  • Experience/familiarity with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements and documentation

  • Software industry experience preferred

  • Ability to work closely with management

  • Commitment to all reporting and audit deadlines

  • Exceptional organizational skills, project management experience to include management of large-scale/global initiatives.
