Sr Tech (2nd Shift - Packaging) 

 

MAIN FOCUS

 

Perform technical, operational, and maintenance to provide high quality pharmaceutical products on time and in the right quantities to customers.  Areas of support may include focus in site facilities, utilities, process control systems, and production operations.  Support equipment and systems as trained, such as:  electrical, air, steam, water, heating, cooling, fabrication,  welding,  machining,  programmable  logic  controllers,  and  other  electromechanical  equipment.  The incumbent  may  be  responsible  for  one  or  more  skilled  areas:  Facilities,  Utilities,  Process  Control  Systems, Manufacturing and Packaging (Team Member or Technical Pool)

 

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Senior Technician (2nd Shift Packaging), are to: 

  • Comply with all workplace standards and safety procedures, including Lockout Tagout, Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), Occupational Safety and Health Administration requirements (OSHA), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintain clean/orderly work area, and participate in safety improvement projects;
  • Create/update/schedule work orders, and provide technical (equipment) support/training/leadership to line teams;
  • Perform preventive, routine, and non-routine maintenance tasks as required to meet scheduled completion dates (PM’s);
  • Coordinate the utilization of outside contractors and vendors as needed;
  • Assist Engineers with installation and operational qualifications (IQ/OQ), site capital projects, testing and troubleshooting new equipment and design, and install and debug control system projects and drive systems;
  • Maintain documentation and maintenance logs according to SOP's, cGMP's and any other regulatory requirements;
  • Provide technical support and leadership with department projects and goals on assigned line;
  • Demonstrate the ability to progressively manage critical facility and operations support systems;
  • Demonstrate the ability to establish operating parameters and maintain specific performance standards;
  • Demonstrate the ability to plan, schedule and prioritize daily and weekly work activities as initiated by supervision;
  • Communicate key information to operational and technical supervision, technical parts administrator, and personnel on other shifts to ensure no business disruption;
  • Calibrate various electronic equipment, production, facilities, and utilities equipment as trained;
  • Read, write, and modify programmable logic control (PLC) ladder Logic;
  • Perform Packaging / Manufacturing / PCS / Facility / Utility technical duties required to support the site, and provide back up support for technical pool when needed;
  • Perform other duties as trained and assigned;

 

Packaging Focus:

  • Demonstrate line ownership; improve OEE by increasing the equipment effectiveness on assigned packaging line;
  • Inspect packaging components, in-process items, and packaged drug products to assure compliance to specifications, identify any nonconforming item and initiate appropriate actions;
  • Perform equipment setup and changeover activities, and support all changeover reduction initiatives;
  • Establish equipment-operating parameters to maximize production, while meeting all product specification;
  • Perform the daily setup and routine operation of the packaging line, including but not limited to: bottle in-feed, unscrambler, filler, bottle capper, torquer, labeler, vision systems, weighing systems, bar coding systems, sealers, disassembly/assembly, cleaning, resolving equipment stoppages and jams, and all material handling as trained;
  • Provide overall line team support including equipment operation and other duties needed to support team members
  • Palletize both finished and unfinished products, and operate motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment
  • Complete paperwork including AQL checks and scanner checks
  • Perform line operator duties on a rotational basis as a fully trained Level 3 Associate Technician according to the training module plan, on at least one line
