Security Guard (Special Officer)

Job Description:

Responsibilities:

· Manage security at stadium entrances which includes operating walk-through and hand-held metal detectors, examining the contents of fans’ pockets/bags, and discarding prohibited items.

· Monitor fan and field activity during games and events to ensure the safety and security of fans, employees, and players.

· Interact and engage with fans violating the code of conduct and attempt to mitigate the behavior through de-escalation, or safely remove them from the stadium, if necessary.

· Provide directions, answer questions, and assist guests to ensure a positive experience at Citi Field.

· Maintain a professional and approachable demeanor at all times.

· Assist in the set-up/ breakdown of security equipment for each event.

· Assist with other duties as directed by Citi Field security management.

Qualifications:

· Must be available to work nights, weekends & holidays.

· Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.

· Must be a New York State certified Security Guard. License must be valid and up to date at time of hiring.

· Must join SEIU Local 177 Special Officers Union if hired.

Ideal candidates have a flexible schedule for nights, weekends and holidays during the baseball season and beyond. Citi Field is a 24/7 Facility.
