The Business Systems Administrator supports the effective use of workflows and technology, responsible for identifying, communicating, and executing various process and system efficiencies. This position will be essential in driving growth, efficiency, and innovation across Commercial Lines systems and processes. The Business Systems Administrator collaborates closely with executives, managers, and key stakeholders to ensure successful planning, execution, and monitoring of system projects. This position requires a combination of analytical, organizational, and communication skills, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders. This role will work closely with and report to North Risk’s Director of Service & Operations for Commercial Lines. This role will also involve close working relationships with members of North Risk’s learning and development, training, processes and procedures, IT and strategic initiatives teams.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as North Risk's product owner for Vertafore Commercial Lines systems and any connected products critical to the functions and workflows of the systems. (e.g., IVANS and BOTs)
- Ensure effective use of these systems and lead ongoing improvement through:
- Managing close vendor relations
- Supporting process changes
- Managing product updates
- Pursuing continued education on system features as the firm's product expert
- Sharing product knowledge with the team defining workflows
- Driving data management best practices
- Play a key role in the analysis and development of Commercial Lines workflows for both sales and service.
- Play a key role in acquisition integration, including the transfer of data as well as agency system migrations.
- Maintain strong knowledge of North Risk's software solutions with an emphasis on those related to Commercial Lines functions.
- Drive and manage carrier technology updates related to downloads, mail, email notifications, e-docs, and more as applicable to improve workflows.
- Stay current on Commercial Lines department processes, procedures, and roles.
- Stay current on updates and advancements in industry technology and workflows.
- Influence positive organizational change by bringing a systems and end-user perspective to process improvement discussions.
- Collaborate with North Risk's internal communications team when launching new initiatives to effectively manage and communicate changes to key stakeholders.
- Lead and participate in the creation, maintenance, and distribution of process and procedure documentation for training internal users.
- Support development and execution of employee training and accountability systems during the change management process.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITES:
- Continue professional development including pursuing and maintaining an insurance license and applicable professional designations.
- Travel as necessary for meetings.
- Perform any miscellaneous projects and complete various tasks within the team as assigned and/or requested by any Commercial Lines department leader or member of the Executive Leadership team.
Education, Experience, and Certifications
- A combination of education and experience, generally attained through a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years business systems administrator experience and ability to obtain/maintain a property and casualty insurance license
- Experience in the commercial lines insurance space is a plus, but not required
- Related experience in systems troubleshooting and help desk support
- Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and communicate it effectively to the end user
- Effective interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships with stakeholders at all levels
- Adaptability and flexibility to respond to evolving priorities and challenges
- Applied change management experience is a plus, but not required
- Experience with lean concepts and workflow automation is a plus, though not required
