In your role as a Patient Care Assistant in our Medical Surgical Unit at Banner Thunderbird Medical Center, you will help provide basic nursing assistance to patients. You may be floating between Med Surg and Med Surg overflow units (2A Med Surg Ortho, 3A Med Surg-Trauma, 3B Med Surg Oncolog, 3C); possibly Monitor tech and Runner position on Behavioral/General Med Surg 1A. You will have the opportunity to work in one of our following areas; trauma, oncology, or behavioral health/general Med/Surg. You will play a crucial role in facilitating communication between physicians, nurses and physicians, calls in Consults and acts as a liaison with all other internal departments and external contacts. Duties can vary from vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse rate, respiration rate), assisting with patient hygiene and movement, and generally monitoring the patient and providing updates to clinical staff. - Full-Time Days and Nights Available (FT:3 -12 hour Shifts)
- 1 Part-Time Nights Available (PT 2-12 hour Shifts)
- Shift Hours: Day shift is 6am-6:30pm | Night Shift 6pm - 6:30am
- You can utilize our self-scheduling tool for shift and weekend coverage.There are no set days you can be scheduled each week
- Varied Shifts = could be working days nights, weekends
- Weekend Rotations are required in this role. Every other weekend commitment which for nights is Friday/Saturday. Day shift is Saturday/Sunday.
- Rotating Holidays Required - 1 major and 1 minor
- Enjoy a flat rate $1/hour weekend shift differential and an 18%-Night Shift differential when applicable
POSITION SUMMARY
This position provides routine patient care to promote patient comfort and contribute to the overall patient plan of care. This position is responsible for on-going patient data collection and documentation in the medical records and provides a variety of unit support functions which contribute to the overall efficient operation of the nursing unit/department.
