Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Tax Analyst to join our growing tax team. This role is primarily focused on state and local income/franchise taxes but also offers a unique opportunity to gain exposure to international direct and indirect taxes as part of a fast-growing, dynamic company in the construction and manufacturing space. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review state and local income/franchise tax returns and estimated tax payments across multiple jurisdictions
- Assist with quarterly and annual state tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740
- Analyze and maintain apportionment data (property, payroll, sales) across states
- Respond to state tax notices and assist with state tax audits and inquiries
- Perform technical research and write memos on state and local tax issues, including legislation and filing requirements
- Collaborate with Accounting, Finance, and Operations to gather and validate tax-related data
- Assist with tax strategy and planning for new operations or expansions
- Participate in international tax projects and receive mentorship in direct and indirect global tax matters
- Contribute to process improvements, documentation, and automation of recurring tasks
- Collaborate with various departments to monitor and report on incentives
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMI a plus)
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in state and local income/franchise taxation, preferably in a corporate or public accounting setting
- Familiarity with construction, manufacturing, or data center infrastructure industries is a strong plus
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, lookups, formulas)
- Experience with tax compliance, estimates and provision calculations
- Solid understanding of multistate tax rules and apportionment concepts
- Strong organizational, communication, and critical thinking skills
- Desire to grow and develop skills in international tax within a fast-paced environment
