This position requires office presence of a minimum of 5 days per week and is only located in the location(s) posted. No relocation is offered.
Overview:
AT&T Device and SIM platform team is responsible for providing the best possible user experience on AT&T consumer wireless devices. You'll work collaboratively with diverse teams to innovate and implement solutions that push the boundaries of what's possible in wireless communication.
Role is responsible for the service and technology roadmap for AT&T’s wireless device and SIM platforms. Role will translate business needs into technical solutions and defining solutions to problems through reasonable application of Wireless Network technology.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Designs, develops, documents, and analyzes overall architecture of wireless systems and platforms, including hardware and software.
- Determines integrated hardware and software architecture solutions that meet performance, usability, scalability, reliability, and security needs.
- Coordinates design and integration of the total system including subsystems. Research and recommend technology to improve the current systems.
- Conducts design and development work in the areas of new products/technologies, systems/platform architecture, hardware/software development engineering, technical security and QA Design/certification.
- Serve as subject matter expert during the continuous integration/continuous deployment cycle in a production environment focused on complex design, engineering and development.
Operations and Deployment Support
- Provide tier 4 SME level support for network operations throughout new feature deployment and introduction.
- Provide tier 4 SME level support for production issues, interfacing with vendors and/or other system architects to drive for resolution.
Budget Planning
- Identify and plan for security funding needs within the budget year.
Vendor Management
- Ensure vendors are aware of security requirements and have a roadmap to support future required security capabilities.
Device and SIM Architecture Support
- Engage with the Device and SIM architecture team, supporting them and collaborating with the CSO, product marketing, labs, and Network Operations

- Extensive specialized technical expertise.

- Integrates expert knowledge of technical principles/methods of multiple disciplines with knowledge of products/services and internal operations.
- Wireless Data, Device and SIM services (Data Core, signaling, provisioning, Device and SIM/eSIM requirements, Remote Device and SIM provisioning).

Desired Experience & Qualifications:
- Recognized technical authority in AT&T technologies with a deep understanding of wireless network platforms, wireless device, and SIM management.
- 8-10 years related technical architect/engineering experience
- PhD in an approved field from an approved university with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience or Masters in an approved field from an approved university with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience or a Bachelors in an approved field from an approved university with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
- Proficient in wireless network and system architecture (subsystems, interfaces, hw/sw dependencies).
