The Girl Scout mission is to build girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. Behind every Girl Scout and volunteer is a team of local staff ready to help them earn that next badge, embark on a camping adventure, or organize an impactful service project.

We are Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey (GSNNJ) serving girls in grades K-12 in Bergen, Morris, Passaic, Sussex and northern Warren counties. We bring the Girl Scout Leadership Experience to 19,000 girls and 10,200 adult members.

We are looking for a dynamic and energized leader who will oversees specific aspects of the Girl Scout cookie and fall product sale programs within the GSNNJ council, providing support and generating enthusiasm for the program.

  

The Product Program Manager assists the Product Program Director in the implementation of strategies and campaigns for the council’s product programs specific to Community Engagement and Juliette Girl Scout participation. They work with other Product Program Managers collaboratively to provide back-up support and cross-training opportunities. The Product Program Manager is the perfect position for individuals ready to make a direct and lasting impact on the leadership development of Girl Scouts. Work behind the scenes of the largest girl-led business in the world as you help implement strategies to support Girl Scouts and volunteers. With creativity and innovation, you will develop the rewards programs for girls and work collaboratively with your team to make sure members are motivated, prepared, and excited to participate in the Girl Scout Cookie experience and the fall product program. The ideal candidate will enjoy building relationships with volunteers and collaborating with other departments, who are invest in supporting the next generation of female entrepreneurs.


Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and steward volunteers and partners to ensure quality programing for girls and increased participation in the council’s product programs.
  • Provides support, supervision and materials necessary to ensure successful product programs for both Community Engagement and Juliette Girl Scouts.
  • Assists the Director of Product Program in the administration of the annual operating budget for product programs.
  • Assists the Director of Product Program in the day-to-day product program operations; ensure the accuracy of all product program transactions and the safeguarding of assets
  • Attends annual training programs for staff and volunteers that highlights the girl program aspects of the product programs and promotes a high level of troop and girl participation.
  • Acts as liaison between volunteers, staff, parents/caregivers, and girl members and the Director of Product Program to manage product programs in Community Engagement areas as well as Juliette Girl Scout participation. This includes the utilization of product program databases.
  • Assists in the collection of all product programs funds and ensures that all delinquent accounts are settled.
  • Provides professional and quality customer service to members, volunteers, staff, and other community contacts.
  • Contributes to the Inclusion and Belonging goals of the council by assuring that the religious, racial, ethnic, social, and economic diversity of the area is reflected in volunteer/employed staff positions and program participants.
  • Provide consistent backup support to team members to ensure team goals are met. Participate and engage in cross departmental initiatives as necessary.
  • Performs other duties as required. 

Requirements

  • Associate degree (or equivalent experience) in related field
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills preferred
  • At least 2+ years of experience in a related field, customer relationship management (CRM), volunteer management, community organizing or customer service experience preferred
  • Must have a high level of interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to manage confidential information
  • Exceptional time management capability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, experience with Salesforce or ability to learn recent technologies
  • Able to plan, organize, and prioritize work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including some evenings and weekends.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable automobile, and auto insurance
  • Ability to travel throughout the jurisdiction to attend meetings during the day/evening/weekend
  • Membership in GSUSA is required upon employment and annually thereafter (cost covered by the GSNNJ)
