The Staff Accountant is responsible for assisting with various accounting duties and special projects. Accounting proficiency and Microsoft Excel is a must, as well as experience with reconciliations and other accounting related tasks. Strong attention to detail, great organizational skills, and technical ability to work with software systems and general ledger programs also required.
• General ledger accounting• Third Party Administration accounting• Balance sheet reconciliations• Accounts payable and receivable clerk duties• Bank account reconciliations• Processing ACH and wire transfers • Data entry within Microsoft Excel• Processing of Accounting details and commissions within internal Billing system • Other various reconciliation/analysis under the direction of the Executive Vice President, Operations• Ad-Hoc special projectsQUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or finance.• General ledger accounting experience. • Familiarity with a variety of insurance industry concepts, practices and procedures, preferred.• Experience in Microsoft office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). Advanced Excel knowledge is a necessity.• Data reconciliation skills.• Strong organizational skills.• Attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently under deadline pressure is essential.• This is not a work from home position on a daily basis.• Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.• Able to work in a fast-paced, team environment as well as independently.• Strong interpersonal skills; effective oral and written communications both internally and externally.• Flexibility and adaptability; energetic and self-driven.Apply for this role
