In Summary…. Mazzetti is seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Senior Civil Engineer or Senior Civil Designer, ideally based in Portland or Eugene, Oregon but can be based anywhere in the continental United States. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional to lead the design, development, and delivery of local projects. In this leadership position, you will mentor junior staff, engage with clients, and participate in local professional groups, all while receiving support for your long-term career growth.
Mazzetti’s local civil engineering markets span various sectors, including Education, Public, Civic, Athletic, Commercial, Multifamily, Healthcare, and Life Sciences. Our civil services focus on site development and design, grading, accessibility, stormwater management, water/wastewater systems, and public improvements.

Travel requirements: This position requires travel of 10% or less.
YOUR TASKS WILL INVOLVE
- Lead and manage civil engineering projects from conception through completion
- Prepare and review project deliverables, ensuring they meet client expectations and regulatory requirements
- Monitor budgets and schedules, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion
- Interface regularly with clients to discuss project progress, address concerns, and provide updates
- Mentor and train junior civil engineering staff, fostering their professional growth
EXPERTISE AND ABILITIES YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in civil design
- In-depth knowledge of the regulatory standards and requirements in Oregon and/or Washington
- Proficiency in using AutoCAD/Civil3D for project design
- Demonstrated experience delivering projects in local jurisdictions
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to perform complex technical design and modeling tasks
- Strong leadership and administrative capabilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to travel up to 10%
Preferred Qualifications
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Oregon

WHAT YOU GET
The typical salary range for a Senior Civil Engineer or Designer in Portland or Eugene, Oregon is $90,000 - $130,000. The ultimate compensation may vary depending on your experience and job-related skills. Additionally, we offer a dynamic benefits package which includes the following:
