Department Summary:At the Fetal Care and Surgery Center, our team of renowned specialists diagnose, evaluate, and treat a full spectrum of fetal conditions and works collaboratively with your existing obstetric or maternal-fetal medicine team to provide the best treatment possible. While many conditions can be managed through noninvasive treatment or therapies, some may require fetal surgery. Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervised facilitation and coordination of research projects for the Division of Fetal Medicine and Surgery through the Fetal Care and Surgery Center (FCSC).
  • Assisting Principal Investigators with the submission of new protocols. This includes but is not limited to: literature review, editing study-related documents such as subject files, consent forms, data entry forms, and standard operation manuals, assisting with electronic protocol submission, completing amendments and continuing reviews, communicating with the Institutional Review Board.
  • Working in concert with Principal Investigators and Research Manager to develop and implement new strategies for recruitment, study workflows, data collection systems, and team collaboration.
  • Performing study responsibilities including recruitment, screening, informed consent, study visits, and data collection and analysis.
  • Maintaining regulatory documents and binders, including study logs, notes to file, training certifications, version control.
  • Coordinating biospecimen collection and transfer of placentas after delivery.
  • Ensuring that all research projects are being conducted using Good Clinical Practice and adhering to hospital policies as well as the policies of outside agencies (i.e. the FDA).
  • Establishing relationships with patients and families and maintaining patient safety throughout all aspects of this role.
 
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in STEM or a health science field is required.
