Skeletal Health Center
This Staff Nurse will be responsible for:
- Working with patients and families for acute and chronic problem solving with a focus in caring for patients with skeletal dysplasia and osteoporosis.
- Preparing patients and families for evaluation in the Skeletal Health Center.
- Following-up with patients and families to evaluate progress after making treatment changes and infusion appointments.
- Providing support to physicians to facilitate ambulatory clinic flow.
- Administering various injections and providing training on devices such as growth promoting medications for use at home.
- Providing information and liaison between families and their physicians (primary care and endocrine) in order for families to be comfortable with the care of their children.
- Triaging patient and family needs with primary care physicians and/or families who are questioning the need for a Skeletal Health Center or endocrine appointment.
- Working in our Boston, Waltham and Peabody clinics.
- BSN degree
- 1-3 years nursing experience required
- Strong telephone communication, critical thinking and organizational skills as well as the ability to work as a team
- Comfort providing telephone support
- This is a 40 hour per week position scheduled as four 10-hour days (8am-6:30pm)
