Job Summary

This position is responsible for ensuring high quality and high yielding product at IC and module level. The Senior Staff Engineer is responsible for yield enhancement, analysis of RMA customer returns, and change control during production. This position will interface with Product, Test, Design, Manufacturing, Failure Analysis, Reliability, Applications, Foundry and Marketing groups to identify opportunities, drive projects to completion, and verify effectiveness. This position will also interface directly with Customers and downstream manufacturing sites as needed.

The assigned tasks will be complex in scope and will require in-depth analysis of situations, data, and intangibles. The candidate will need to exercise good judgement in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. The person in this role will be responsible for sustaining released products in high volume manufacturing. This will require the ability to coordinate among different engineering groups. The candidate must enjoy working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a sense of commitment and be flexible to project needs. The candidate must be a team player and possess a sense of urgency to meet product requirements on schedule.

 

Roles & Responsibilities

This position has responsibility for:

  • Yield Management: Ensure high quality and high yielding material at downstream manufacturing stages. Track product yields in process technology, test, product limits, packaging/assembly to assess quality excursion and direct to appropriate functional engineering team (DE, PTE, Technology, Packaging,…) for corrective action.
  • Product Sustaining: Apply data analysis skills to improve product yields during production. Review and disposition production lots as necessary. Able to operate independently.
  • Change Control: Review any changes in production processes and how the change may impact product performance or reliability. Perform any necessary electrical characterization to support change qualification.
  • Failure Analysis: Drive failure analysis studies of yield excursion or study failure modes that impact product yield.

Minimum Qualifications (Experience and Skills)

  • Typically requires 8 to 12 years of experience in Product Engineering, Device Engineering, or Design Engineering, depending on level of education and experience
  • Experience with any of the following products: RF Switch, LNA, Digital Attenuators, Phase Shifters, DC-DC converters, PMIC
  • Experience with software such as Exensio, JMP, Cadence for layout and schematic review
  • Strong understanding of data analysis, data visualization, and multi-variate regression analysis
  • Background working with large datasets and applying sta
