Software Engineering Manager, Development Infrastructure

The Symbolication & Debugger Experience (SDE) team within Dev Infra is looking for an experienced leader to help us shape the debugging experience across Meta as well as push the industry forward via open source. Developer productivity continues to be a top priority for the company, which includes usage of debuggers to boost developer efficiency. In addition to enabling tens of thousands of developers across Meta to be more productive during code authoring as well as diagnosing issues in complex services once deployed, we are exploring new frontiers such as GPU Debugging, debugging large services with thousands of threads and infusing AI in debugging workflows to assist engineers in their task at hand.Software Engineering Manager, Development Infrastructure Responsibilities

• As a highly technical and effective people manager, lead a team of engineers who are specialists in the field of GPUs, debuggers, developer tools, compilers, runtimes, or programming languages
• Lead teams that deliver on multiple projects of increasing dependencies in an ambiguous or high-impact area
• Work with your team and cross functional partners to define and influence strategy
• Drive roadmap creation and execution
• Collaborate with various functions, drive engineering initiatives and have an impact at an organizational level
• Work with cross functional partners and stakeholders to set and achieve optimal outcomes
• Partner with leadership to influence and drive organization design, contribution, and prioritization

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years of people management experience
• 5+ years experience coding in one of the following languages: C++, Python
• Experience in: compilers, operating systems, computer architecture, performance analysis, or developer tooling
• Demonstrated experience recruiting and managing technical teams, including performance management
• BA/BS in Computer Science or relevant field (In lieu of degree, 4+ years similar work experience)
• Demonstrated interest for supporting fellow developers
• Be both highly technical and an effective people manager

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in GPUs, debuggers, programming language design or compiler optimization
• Experience in developer tooling, such as debuggers, profilers, typecheckers, or IDEs
• Experience in GPU technologies, such as CUDA/ROCm libraries, Triton language, LLVM MLIR representation
• Experience in Program Management: evaluating customer needs, defining viable products, developing a product strategy, and ensuring customer adoption
• Experience collaborating with partners in Product Management, User Experience, Data Science and Machine Language Engineers.

$177,000/year to $251,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
