Supervisors: 1. Dr. Rhonda Butler; 2. Ms. Kismet Loftin-Bell

Starting Rate of Pay: $9.00

Length of Time: Eligible for rehire on a semester basis.

Department Description

The Strickland Women’s L.I.F.T Fellowship Program provides networking, leadership development, mentorship and coaching for female students interested in becoming CEOs, leaders, entrepreneurs, executives, and trailblazers in their chosen careers. L.I.F.T. students work alongside accomplished faculty and executives to strengthen their self-efficacy, confidence, and leadership capacity. The L.I.F.T. Fellowship Program is interdisciplinary.

Job Description

Work with the Director of the L.I.F.T. Fellowship Program and the Women’s Leadership Program Associate on various projects and activities to empower, inspire, and promote women in leadership on campus and in the workplace.

Job Location/ Hours Required

The candidate will perform most/all job duties in the offices of the supervisors (Cottrell, Wilson, and/or Couch Hall) Hours may vary depending on the job requirements; however, the total number of hours a student employee may work per week is 20 hours. This position requires up to (10-20) hours per week.

Responsibilities:

Some projects that the student worker may be involved in include:

  • Working with the Director of the Women’s L.I.F.T. Fellowship program and Women’s Leadership Program Associate on various administrative duties related to women’s leadership programs.
  • Managing social media and developing special communications for the Women’s LIFT fellowship, SWIM program, and the women’s leadership programs
  • Assisting with the development and ordering of Women’s LIFT and leadership specialty items
  • Assisting with organizing a fall Meet and Greet and a spring event for members
  • Taking and organizing and taking photos, and creating year in review presentations for special events and reports
  • Creating sign-in attendance sheets, project sign up sheets, and participation documentation
  • Assisting the Director in preparing materials for special women’s leadership presentations
  • Sending emails to LIFT scholars
  • Tracking interest in the LIFT fellowship
  • Helping to promote L.I.F.T., SWIM, and women’s leadership activities
  • Updating the mentoring handbook
  • Assisting with other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

Strong oral and written communication skills. Organized. Social media, PowerPoint or other presentation platform skills. Interest in leadership.

Desired Skills:

  • Must have a minimum (3.0) overall GPA
  • Social media and/or marketing skills
  • Interest in creative apps and platforms to communicate
