About the role

Job Description:

AT&T is seeking an accomplished and visionary leader to join our team as the Assistant Vice President (AVP), Cybersecurity Product Development & Implementation of Emerging Technologies. This pivotal role will drive the development and deployment of next-generation cybersecurity solutions, focusing on quantum computing, artificial intelligence (AI), and post-quantum encryption. 

As a key executive leader, you will spearhead innovation, lead highly technical teams, and ensure the resilience of AT&T’s cybersecurity programs. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of security, leveraging AI-driven threat mitigation strategies and quantum-resistant technologies to protect critical platforms and infrastructure. 

This role can be based in Dallas TX, Middletown NJ, Alpharetta GA, Charlotte NC or Bothell WA requiring in-office presence 5 days/week. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Executive Leadership & Team Development: Lead, mentor, and oversee highly technical cybersecurity and product development teams, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence. 
  • Strategic Security Innovation: Drive the adoption of AI, quantum computing, and post-quantum encryption to enhance AT&T’s cybersecurity framework. 
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with business leaders, technology teams, and external industry experts to align cybersecurity strategies with business objectives. 
  • Technology Development & Implementation: Oversee the design, deployment, and optimization of advanced cybersecurity solutions, ensuring scalability, efficiency, and resilience. 
  • Governance & Compliance: Ensure adherence to industry best practices, regulatory compliance, and risk management standards while fostering a culture of security innovation. 
  • Emerging Threat Mitigation: Proactively assess and address risks associated with next-generation cyber threats, particularly in the post-quantum security landscape. 
  • Operational Excellence: Implement agile methodologies and automation frameworks to enhance security operations, detection, and response capabilities.

Required Qualifications 

  • Proven leadership experience managing large-scale, technical cybersecurity teams. 
  • Expertise in AI-driven security solutions, quantum computing, and post-quantum encryption. 
  • Deep understanding of security architecture, cryptographic principles, and network security protocols (TCP/IP, SDN, service chaining). 
  • Hands-on experience in cybersecurity program design, vulnerability assessments, and security testing. 
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and strategic thinking, with a focus on emerging technologies and innovation. 
  • Excellent executive communication skills, with experience presenting to senior leadership and industry forums. 
  • High ethical integrity and ability to lead in a fast-paced, high-stakes security environment. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience leading AI, machine learning, and quantum cryptography initiatives. 
  • Proficiency in Java, Python, C, C++, C#, shell scripting, PERL, and PowerShell. 
  • Knowledge of cloud-based security platforms (SaaS, IaaS, embedded network security solutions). 
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity automation frameworks and agile development methodologies. 
  • Experience in government, telecom, or financial sector cybersecurity is a plus.
