How You’ll Make an Impact
The Production Manager provides tactical and strategic direction to production teams. Day to day tactical direction provided to ensure short term customer needs are meet. Long term strategic planning to ensure machine capacity and manpower will be sufficient to meet future demand.
What you’ll be doing as a Production Manager:
- Responsible for managing his direct leads and hourly employees.
- Ensure target efficiencies and performance measures are met or exceeded.
- Ensure that production activities are cost effective.
- Monitor the production processes and adjust schedules as needed.
- Identifies and mitigates potential problems and conflicts in the areas of cost, employee relations, quality, and productivity.
- Liaise among different departments. Identify areas where bottle necks occur and work to minimize impact.
- Work with managers to implement the company’s polices and goals.
- Encourage and motivate team atmosphere.
- Review the performance of subordinates by tracking the competencies and provide leadership development as required to achieve the objectives.
- Works with HR to Screen, interview, hire, train, coach, counsel, and discipline/terminate employees as necessary.
- Safety Responsibility: Carry out primary responsibility in educating, preventing and managing safety in the workplace. Duties shall include observing all company, health, safety and environmental rules, ensuring that employees are provided with full information on area specific safety orientation, identify all unique hazards, and provide employees with the proper equipment to carry out their jobs in a safe manner. Also, the entire work area must be routinely inspected to maintain a high standard of housekeeping and low incidence of physical hazards and all accidents must be promptly reported.

- Responsible for continuous improvement activities, such us kaizen, layout, SMED, etc., to improve productivity of the operation.
Minimum Requirements:
- Exhibits and demands high ethical standards in relations with personnel, suppliers, and customers.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Positive leadership.
- Able to prioritize multiple tasks, maintain organization, and focus despite numerous interruptions.
- Team player with a can-do attitude.
Preferred Requirements:
- 3-5 years’ experience in production at same position preferable in aerospace industry.
- High level of understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance.
- Machinist skill set and knowledge of Manual/CNC mills and lathes.
- Experience in continuous improvement activities, lean manufacturing, six sigma principles.
- Good organizational skills, demonstrate ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, identify, and address problems, and meet deadline and stay within budget.
- Proven track record with managing production.
- Experience with MRP systems.
- Computer skills –MS, Excel, PowerPoint, Project.
- 1-2 years of Lean Manufacturing experience.
- Six Sigma training and/or certification a plus.
