The Opportunity
In Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.
What You’ll Work On
- Perform preventative, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, safety checks, repairs, installations, and modifications on production equipment.
- Record all maintenance repair activity on production equipment and fixtures at the Minnetonka facility using CMMS.
- Knowledge of and skill in repairing industrial machines
- Knowledge of and experience in troubleshooting and repairing all production equipment
- Recognize repair items that require outside service and arrange for repair
- Knowledge of and experience in using small tools, micrometers, calipers, gauge pins, multimeters, etc.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written procedures
- Ability to read and understand drawings and electrical schematics
- Knowledge of personal computer operations and skill in using software packages including Microsoft Office, Windchill, Infor EAM
- Ability to respond to and answer/solve technical questions and problems
- Tear down, inspect and rebuild production equipment
- Assist with production line moves and update equipment records in CMMS
- Ability to diagnose production test system and equipment problems and take the appropriate corrective action to repair
- Assign and complete PM work orders to technicians and ensure an even distribution of PM work
- Requisition needed items for inventory, spare parts and emergency repairs
- Support 5S
- Support all Company initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.
- Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments. Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Two-year technical vocational training and/or military experience.
- Minimum 4 years' experience.
- Knowledge of and skill in repairing industrial machines.
