Job Purpose and Impact

The Accounting and Reporting Analyst will help to establish and maintain accounting policies and fiscal controls and help prepare moderately complex financial reports and safeguard the organization's assets. In this role, you will help build accurate moderately complex financial statements that comply with established requirements and policies. This role supports Trade and Capital Market’s (TCM) Financial Trading Group (FTG) which focuses primarily on emerging markets fixed income and derivatives trading. Successful candidates must be able to effectively collaborate with traders, transaction management, and finance colleagues across FTG’s global offices, to demonstrate curiosity, and conceptual strength. 

Key Accountabilities

  • Apply accounting techniques and standard practices to classify and record financial transactions.
  • Help maintain and monitor daily profit and loss and position reconciliations. the control of accounts and records in areas such as disbursements, expenses, tax payments and income.
  • Perform securities valuations for balance sheet positions by utilizing various external pricing sources. (Add as a new bullet point)
  • Perform traditional general accounting functions such as reviewing and supporting of the balance sheet, manual journal entries, and intercompany reconciliations. accounts receivable, accounts payable and general ledger.
  • Draft segments of statements and reports and begin to handle assignments involving data analysis. (Delete this line)
  • Review and create standard accounting report packages.
  • Contribute input to new setup and changes in existing financial applications to optimize effectiveness. 
  • Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of two years of related work experience 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Experience in Financial Services
  • Experience with trading profit and loss reconciliation or securities valuation 
  • Intermediate knowledge in Excel and Power BI skills
