LOCATION:
- This position may be located in College Station or Round Rock, and consideration for other Capital Farm Credit offices may be given based on the candidate and office space availability.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, agriculture, or a related field is required.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Agricultural Consultant (CAC) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) are strongly preferred.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Candidates should possess 8 to 10 years of progressively responsible experience in commercial or agricultural lending, including credit analysis, financial statement review, loan structuring, and portfolio management.
- A strong background working with commercial agriculture or operating companies—such as those in food procurement, processing, or distribution—is essential.
- Proven success in relationship management, business development, and independently managing complex lending scenarios is required.
- Familiarity with cross-selling financial products and collaborating with internal credit and lending teams is also key to success in this role.
FUNCTIONS:
- Develop new business and service existing commercial and real estate customers.
- Analyze loan applications, determine eligibility and scope of financing, and process/approve loans within delegated authority.
- Evaluate loan collateral and ensure proper lien perfection on all assets.
- Utilize CRM tools to build and manage a comprehensive database of customers and prospects.
- Network with food processing, marketing, and distribution industries and build referral relationships with middle market banks.
- Cross-sell Farm Credit products, including FC Leasing, AgDirect, Young/Beginners/Small Farmer programs, and Home Lending.
- Prepare and submit Financing Proposals for credits exceeding authority with recommendations for approval or rejection.
- Collaborate with internal teams including Credit, Capital Markets, Legal and loan processors on complex loans.
- Build and maintain business relationships with agricultural producers, rural landowners, and community leaders.
- Represent the Association at local and regional events, promoting the organization and its services.
- Make and service loans and leases for operating needs, equipment, and real estate, and recommend loan structures and pricing.
- Review borrower financials (balance sheets, income statements, cash flows) to determine creditworthiness.
- Perform loan servicing activities such as re-amortizations, extensions, subordination agreements, and collateral inspections.
- Ensure accurate risk ratings and loss given default assignments on all assigned loans.
- Assist in collections and work with delinquent borrowers to restore loan performance.
- Verify maintenance of loan covenants and ensure title and lien validity on all collateral.
- May perform appraisals, inspections, and collateral evaluations in accordance with standards.
