About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Health Services Executive Director (NZ), the Director of Health Services/Site Lead in collaboration with the Medical Site Lead is responsible for operational planning, management, and leadership of health services at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre.

In a co-leadership relationship with the Medical Site Lead, the Director of Health Services/Site Lead provides operational leadership and direction to the members of the health team for the day-to-day operations of the sites by facilitating collaboration and integration of activities. This role directs and coordinates site operations and provides leadership to members of the health care team to create and support the culture of the organization. This position supports and ensures the development and execution of an operational plan, excellence in service and care delivery, improvement in health outcomes, and achievement of standards of care established by the NSHA and DHW. The Director acts as the face of Nova Scotia Health in the local community with the general public and community partners, and supports efforts to improve the quality, safety, and efficiency of service delivery. They will work collaboratively with Community Health Boards on creating and implementing strategies to improve the health status of the local population. 

The Director of Health Services/Site Lead ensures continuous improvement to advance a vision of excellence within the provision of care/service delivery and is responsible for the development, maintenance and monitoring of quality management and safety programs, and compliance with relevant standards and accreditation requirements. The Director facilitates and champions a learning and research environment that aligns with the current and proposed future state of the Nova Scotia Health Authority.

The Director of Health Services provides leadership and creates a culture of shared accountability by collaborating with the various programs and services in the planning, development, implementation and ongoing evaluation of policies, standards and processes to ensure the effective use of resources, optimize patient flow and improve health outcomes.

Working in a matrix model and in a co-leadership relationship with the Medical Site Lead, this role provides operational leadership and direction for the day-to-day operations of the site to support the culture of the organization and the provision of sustainable safe and high-quality health care which is accessible, people –centered, promotes health and wellness and optimizes the health of Nova Sc
