What If...
What if you could help scale the systems behind 70+ data centers, mentor a high-performing product team, and shape how 1,000+ employees get work done — all while becoming an owner of the company?
As Group Product Owner, you’ll lead the team building the internal and customer-facing platforms that power how DataBank operates — from billing automations and power usage tracking to our customer portal and mobile apps.
About the Role
This is a player/coach role: you'll lead by example, guide our product team in execution excellence, and directly manage 3–4 Product Owners across key platform areas. You’ll also collaborate closely with UX, engineering, business analysts, and leadership to help scale how DataBank works — literally.
You’ll be building both the platforms our customers rely on — like the Customer Portal — and the internal tools our 1,000+ employees use every day to run and support 70+ data centers. From revenue-critical billing workflows to data center automation, your work will power how DataBank operates.
What You'll Do
Team Leadership:
- Lead, coach, and grow a team of 3–4 Product Owners across multiple internal domains
- Serve as the “execution partner” to the Director of Platform Innovation, allowing them to focus on broader org alignment and transformation
- Model Extreme Ownership — take full accountability for your team’s outcomes
- Help your team deeply understand our internal users — from Billing Managers and Datacenter Techs to Service
Delivery, Support, and Critical Facilities teams — so we build the right tools, not just functional ones
- Lay the foundation for future growth — this role is designed to scale and could evolve into Director-level ownership over internal platform strategy
Product Execution:
- Create clarity and delivery rhythm — backlog health, sprint planning, team accountability
- Own cross-cutting initiatives across billing, automation, and data center operations
- Shape product strategy for shared tools like DBOSS, customer portal, and custom mini-apps
- Collaborate closely with UX, engineering, and analysts to define and deliver solutions
- Drive platform adoption and rollout strategy across a geographically distributed organization, balancing standardization with local nuance
What You Bring
- 5+ years in product ownership or internal product management
- Experience mentoring or managing Product Owners or agile product teams
- A track record of improving internal platforms, back-office workflows, or ERP systems
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills — especially with finance, ops, and infrastructure teams- Agile fluency and a bias for structured, iterative delivery - You don’t wait to be told. You take ownership and deliver.
- Experience deploying technology that intersects with physical operations — from automation tools to field-support apps
- Bonus: MBA or equivalent experience in strategy/ops leadership
- Bonus: Familiarity with NetSuite, Salesforce, Avalara, Azure DevOps, or internal ticketing systems
- Bonus: Experience in compliance-heavy environments (data centers, aviation, healthcare, etc.)
