Position Overview

The Human Resources Generalist plays a critical role in executing Chartis Federal’s Human Resources and Recruiting strategies in support of organizational growth, employee engagement, and operational excellence. Reporting to the HR Director, this role provides hands-on support across core HR and recruiting operations, ensuring programs, processes, and employee experiences align with Chartis Federal’s strategic goals.


This position is ideal for an HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment and is passionate about building strong employee experiences, supporting managers, and enabling scalable recruiting and HR operations.


Duties and Responsibilities

HR Operations & Employee Experience

  • Support  day-to-day HR operations across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, employee records management, and HR  documentation.
  • Support  day-to-day administration of HR systems (including HRIS), ensuring data accuracy and process efficiency.
  • Serve as a first point of contact for employee questions related to policies, benefits, and HR processes, escalating issues as appropriate.
  • Assist with HR process improvements by identifying opportunities to streamline workflows and improve employee and manager experience.
  • Assist in administering employee engagement, recognition, and retention initiatives aligned with the organization’s culture and employer-of-choice goals.
  • Support reporting on HR and recruiting metrics related to engagement, retention, hiring activity, and workforce trends.
  • Support execution of internal communications and HR programs that promote connection, engagement, and alignment across a distributed workforce.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant employee records in HR systems and personnel files.

Recruiting & Talent Operations

  • Support full-cycle recruiting operations, including job posting, resume screening, interview coordination, candidate communications, and offer process support.
  • Partner with hiring managers and the HR Director to ensure a consistent, positive, and compliant candidate experience.
  • Assist with onboarding coordination to ensure new hires are effectively integrated into the organization and positioned for early success.
  • Maintain recruiting metrics, candidate tracking, and documentation to support data-driven hiring decisions and continuous improvement.
  • Support employer branding and recruiting initiatives that strengthen Chartis Federal’s talent pipeline and reputation in the market.


HR Compliance & Process Support

  • Assist with maintaining compliance with federal, state, and government contracting employment requirements, including documentation and reporting support.
  • Support preparation for HR-related audits, reviews, and internal controls by maintaining organized records and timely responses.
  • Help ensure HR policies, procedures, and practices are consistently applied and communicated across the organization.
  • Support training tracking and compliance-related workforce requirements.
Requirements

 Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience in an HR Generalist, HR Operations, or Recruiting role.
  • Working knowledge of HR processes, employment compliance, and recruiting operations.
  • Experience supporting HRIS systems and applicant tracking systems preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Experience in a government contracting or regulated environment is a plus.
