About the role
Schedule
Part Time, Evening Shift (40 hours biweekly)
Hours: Monday, Tuesday Thursday (Every Other) 12:00pm - 8:00pm
Rotation: Holiday rotation
General Summary
Performs routine radiographic procedures at the beginner skill level.
Essential Functions:
- Performs radiographic examinations, obtains patient history, explains routine procedures, and addresses patient concerns.
- Schedules cases to coordinate with other patient examinations.
- Positions and transfers patients safely and comfortably and explains basic procedure.
- Immobilizes patients as necessary and practices radiation safety procedures
- Properly processes images using digital technology
- Evaluates images for technical quality
Common Expectations:
- Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span of the assigned patient population. Assesses and interprets patient age specific data and provides appropriate, age specific treatment. Provides direct patient care to assigned patient age group(s).
- Demonstrates a commitment to patient, visitor and staff by: complying with all applicable safety regulations; learning the impact of medical errors and methodology that will lead to reduction of errors; reporting actual and potential errors, as well as hazardous conditions; identifying opportunities to standardize processes and "error proof" systems that will lead to increased safety; and participating in safety education programs and root cause analyses as required.
- Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
- Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops.
- Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
- High School Diploma or GED Required
Licenses:
- Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required and
- Registered Radiologist Assistant - ARRT within 1 year Required or
- Registered Technologist-Bone Densitometry - ARRT within 1 year Required or
- Registered Technologist-Breast Sonography - ARRT within 1 year Required or
- Registered Technologist-Cardiac Interventional Radiology - ARRT within 1 year Required or
- Registered Technologist-Cardiovascular Interventional Radiology - ARRT within 1 year Required or
- Registered Technologist-Computed Tomography - ARRT within 1 year Required or
- Registered Technologist-Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) - ARRT within 1 year Required or
- Registered Technologist-Mammography - ARRT within 1 year Required or
- Registered Technologist-Nuclear Medicine Technologist - ARRT within 1 year Required or
- Registered Technologist-Quality Management - ARRT within 1 year Required or
- Registered Technologist-Radiation Therapy - ARRT within 1 year Required or
- Registered Technologist-Radiography - ARRT within 1 year Required or
- Registered Technologist-Sonography - ARRT within 1 year Required or
- Registered Technologist-Vascular Interventional Radiology - ARRT within 1 year Required or
- Registered Technologist-Vascular Sonography - ARRT within 1 year Required
Courses and Training:
- Registry eligible. Upon Hire Required and
- Accredited program in radiologic technology. Upon Hire Required
