<p><span><span><span>The Biomaterials Business Unit develops, produces and sells monomers and degradable polymers as raw materials for the medical and pharmaceutical industry. Our products are used, among other things, in the production of surgical aids and slow-release medicines (injection pills). </span></span></span><span><span><span>The products are developed and produced (often to customer specifications) in our factories in Gorinchem and the United States.</span></span></span></p>

<p><span><span><span>As our Senior Process Technologist - Biomedical Polymers you take responsibility for the improvement of existing monomer and polymer production processes and development and implementation of new processes. You report to the Manager Plant Technologist.</span></span></span></p>

<p><span><span><span><b>Purpose of the job:</b></span></span></span></p>
<p><span><span><span><span><span>Improve existing monomer and polymer production processes and development and implementation of new processes in an environment where quality is key.</span></span></span></span></span></p>

<p><span><span><span><b><span><span>Result areas:</span></span></b></span></span></span></p>
<p><span><span><span><span><span>1. Providing technical/technological expertise and coordinating research to maintain and improve the process efficiency, product quality, process stability, equipment availability, safety and health in a medical/pharmaceutical production environment. </span></span></span></span></span></p>
<p><span><span><span><span><span>2. Responsible for scaling up of processes and implementing new recipes (provided by Innovation Center), without the manufacturing of out-of-specification product.</span></span></span></span></span></p>
<p><span><span><span><span><span>3. Project leader for projects to improve existing and/or implementing new production processes. </span></span></span></span></span></p>
<p><span><span><span><span><span>4. Participating in projects, as project member, related to new process equipment, business processes or new products.</span></span></span></span></span></p>
<p><span><span><span><span><span>5. Responsible for setting up Standard Operating Procedures and implementing these procedures within the Manufacturing department (training operational personnel)</span></span></span></span></span></p>
<p><span><span><span><span><span>6. Setting up of validation plans and protocols for the validation of existing and new processes according to ICHQ7 guidelines for manufacturing active pharmaceutical ingredients and implementing necessary methods and/or changes.</span></span></span></span></span></p>
<p><span><span><span><span><span>7. Reviewing batchrecords and solving deviations that have occurred within the manufacturing facility, </span></span></span></span></span></p>
<p><span><span><span><span><span>8. Stay in close contact with other departments like QA and IC. </span></span></span></span></span></p>

<p><span><span><span><b><span><span>Skills / Knowledge and experience</span></span></b></span></span></span></p>
<p> </p>
<p><span><span><span><span><span>- Bachelor degree with at least 5 years experience in chemical process engineering </span></span></span></span></span></p>
<p><span><span><span><span><span>- cGMP/Pharmaceutical skills and knowledge</span></span></span></span></span></p>
<p><span><span><span><span><span>- Able to work individually as an expert and within a multidisciplinary team as advisor/engineer.</span></span></span></span></span></p>
<p><span><span><span><span><span>- Fluent in Dutch and English (verbal and written)</span></span></span></span></span></p>
