The IT Support Specialist is an established performer that serves as a second level support to solve Support Systems issues. This role troubleshoots hardware and software issues and partners with third party vendors to facilitate hardware repairs.

 

Duties and Responsibilities of the Position

· Serve as initial point of contact for IT-related inquiries and issues, including hardware, software, network, and application support.

· Properly diagnose and resolve software and hardware configuration problems at the workstation level.

· Provide prompt and efficient technical assistance to users via various communication channels, such as phone, email, chat, or in person.

· Maintain and update hardware and software inventory, ensuring accurate records of assets and licenses.

· Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software problems, including desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, operating systems, and standard business applications

· Troubleshoot problems using desktop remote control products.

· Use IT Service Management solution to track, update, and close tickets.

· Dispatch 3rd party vendor service technicians when appropriate.

· Maintain and test latest hardware and software revisions and or patches.

· Work closely with IT Management, Support Center personnel, and other technical and applications staff.

· Perform other duties as needed.

 

Required Experience and Education:

· Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education and/or experience.

· 2-4 years’ relevant experience or equivalent education and/or experience.

· At least 1 years of experience in end-user support with the Microsoft Windows environment.

· Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows and/or macOS operating systems.

· Familiarity with computer hardware, software applications, and peripheral devices (e.g., printers, scanners).

· Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to productivity software, email clients, web browsers, and standard business applications.

· Applies conceptual knowledge of the theories, practices, and procedures within a discipline.

· Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills.

· Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.

· High level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential data.

· Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite products.

· Understanding of control systems, video conferencing equipment, Digital Signage, Kiosks, and audio equalization preferred.

· Comfortable using power tools.
