Boeing Global Services (BGS) is currently seeking a Quality Professional to join our Global Services Quality team and be part of an exciting experience focused on integrating and improving the Global Services’ Safety Management System (SMS) and Quality Management System (QMS).  The team statement of work includes a variety of tasks:  Safety Risk Management, assessing safety regulatory requirements, auditing, process improvement, QMS health and more. 

Position Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will report to the Boeing Global Services QMS/SMS Integration and Oversight leader and will work alongside a team of Quality and SMS professionals as well as other key functions.

  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements applicable to Safety Management Systems and Quality Management Systems.
  • Facilitate hazard identification, risk assessment, risk mitigation, and risk management.
  • Monitor the implementation of actions taken to mitigate risks, as listed in safety action plans.
  • Provide periodic reports on safety and quality performance to various Quality & Safety Review Board at the Executive level.
  • Ensure the maintenance of safety management documentation.
  • Ensure that there is safety training available, and that it meets acceptable standards.
  • Provide subject matter expert advice on product safety matters and safety related issues.  
  • Ensure the initiation and follow-up of internal occurrence investigations.
  • Lead and integrate the Safety Management function by engaging in multi-function, multi-site groups that develop company directives, policies, processes, procedures and metrics to assure program, contract, customer, regulatory requirements, international standards and working agreements are deployed.
  • Lead stakeholders in analysis of safety related process data, metrics, models and flows to identify root cause of complex problems and development and implementation of preventative or corrective actions.
  • Establish the BGS Repair Station Community of Practice to drive toward performance excellence.
  • Review company systems, policies and procedures and make recommendations to management team.
  • Maintain Hazard/Risk Register(s).
  • Review and investigate accident reports, occurrence reports, risk reports and non-compliances to the required level and ensure appropriate corrective and preventative actions are taken.
  • Ensure adequate actions (including corrective and/or preventative actions) are implemented, planned and accomplished as required.
  • Communicate SMS report trends to management team.
  • Supports research, compilation and analysis of performance reports and process control statistics to continuously improve product/process quality.
  • Review company systems, policies and procedures and make improvement recommendations to management team.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's of Science Degree or Equivalent
  • SMS qualification with 3+ years of experience.
  • Knowledge of applicable European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and/or Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Regulations.
  • Experience working with Regulators and Customers and interpreting their requirements and expectations for Quality and Safety.
  • Experience managing complex projects utilizing proven project management tools and methodologies.
  • Excellent communication skills & good teamwork.
  • Must be willing to travel as required.

Additional Qualifications:

  • SMS Subject Matter Expert (SME) knowledge and experience.
  • Experience in implementing, assessing, overseeing SMS in MRO/CAMO.
  • Training in Safety Risk Management and experience in using and facilitating bowtie methodologies.
  • Auditing qualification / experience.
  • Knowledge of workplace and operational safety.
  • Experience using Q-Pulse or equivalent auditing system (compliance management system).
  • Experience data mining, analyzing data, and presenting findings.
  • Experience working with Safety (or Quality) Corrective Action/Preventative Action, Root Cause Corrective Actions.
  • A flexible and proactive attitude with a willingness to take on and complete tasks, whatever they may be.
  • Experience of developing/producing metrics.
