Job Description

Our East Syracuse, NY laboratory is looking for an Assistant to join their Sample Login team!  The Sample Login Assistant’s primary responsibilities are to receive and sort packages, prioritize sample packages, verify accuracy of chains of custody, and deliver samples to the sample custody room. The Sample Login Assistant is responsible for following all health and safety procedures and promoting a safe working environment throughout the department and the laboratory.

Job Functions:

• Routes inbound packages to appropriate department
• Sorts packages, containing samples, according to turn around time, analytical and client priorities; Compares samples received to the chain of custody, documenting any discrepancies
• Tracks all packages and reusable, bar-coded media in LIMS, returns all unused/returned media for reuse as applicable
• Transfers samples between sample reception and sample custody room upon login completion
• Mails reports and invoices, per client request
• Removes and disposes rejected samples and media according to SOP guidelines
• Adheres to lab and sample management SOPs to ensure that the proper sampling, handling procedures are followed
• Maintains all required documentation with accuracy and clarity
• Provides exceptional customer service both internal and external clients

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (Required)
• Experience in a science related field (Preferred)
• Proficient English language skills (Required)
• Basic mathematical and reasoning skills (Required)
• Attention to Detail (Required)
• Basic computer skills (Required)
• Ability to lift/carry/push and/or pull upwards of 50 lbs on a frequent basis (Required)

This position pays $17.50 - $18.50/hour and is eligible for overtime pay. 

In addition, your compensation package includes the following benefits:
