Description
Team Trahan in our Interventional Pain Medicine department is looking for an LPN - Team Lead to assist in providing patient care management within the clinic as ordered by a physician by performing various duties. This position is responsible for prompt follow through with physician’s orders, following clinic policies and procedures, and performing all other duties as assigned by the supervisor or administration. On occasion, employee may have to travel to satellite clinics to assist physician in clinic.

Job Duties:
- Responsible for the training of new employees on the team.
- Actively seeks opportunities to improve team performance. Suggest creatvie ways to solve problems and work more efficiently.
- Administers IM injections to patients as ordered by physician. Assists physician with clinical procedures when needed.
- Responsible for patient education; gives out hand-outs and pamphlets, videos, or support group phone numbers as needed.
- Documents phone calls in the EMR via a phone note update. When taking phone messages, confirm patient date of birth and another form of identification to maintain patient confidentiality. Only speaks to patient about their protected health information (PHO).
- Assist with prescription refills at the direction of physician. All prescriptions are documented in EMR system. Fax requests for prescription refills are converted into EMR for filling.
- Prepares for clinic by reading physician's last note and making sure that any testing that was ordered prior has been completed and in EMR system for physician. If testing has not been completed, there should be a note for physician prior to him entering the exam room so that he knows the reason behind patient not completing tests ordered. If referrals are needed; make sure that we have one on file.
- Responsible for physician’s clinic. Keeps schedules within physician area. Schedules should not be visible to other patients in the clinic area.
- Responsible for auditing outstanding tests ordered in EMR system weekly. Letters are sent to patients that have not completed testing in a timely manner.
- Routes information to other areas within the clinic via EMR system if needed. When faxing outside the EMR system, cover sheets are required that include facility that fax is going to along with phone number and fax number. You should verify fax number prior to sending information.
- Assists co-workers when needed and able. Work as a team in the department. Maintains a positive attitude and friendly demeanor with patients and their families at all times. Portrays a professional demeanor at all times.
- Maintains current unrestricted LPN license for the State of Louisiana
Qualifications:
- LPN Experience a plus
- Candidate must be able to work at a fast pace and have the ability to multi-task.
- Must accurately receive and return phone calls in a timely manner and be confident in decision-making skills.
- Must be detail-oriented.
Education Required: Vocational Degree/Certification or Associates Degree in Nursing required
Hourly Full-Time
Monday-Friday 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM
