POSITION SUMMARY
The Intern (Hourly) Nutrition Services supports departmental initiatives and special projects by assisting with project coordination, administrative activities, research, reporting, and communication. The intern collaborates with district staff and stakeholders to organize project documentation, monitor progress, prepare presentations, and support the successful
implementation of Nutrition Services initiatives while gaining practical professional experience.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
• Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, or graduated from an accredited
college or university within the past year

• No prior work experience required
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assists with coordinating project activities, schedules, timelines, and deliverables for assigned Nutrition Services initiatives
• Organizes, prepares, and maintains project documentation, records, and supporting materials
• Prepares reports, presentations, dashboards, and other communication materials for department leadership
• Monitors project progress, tracks milestones, and identifies issues requiring supervisor attention
• Communicates project updates, deadlines, and relevant information to internal stakeholders
• Assists with research, data collection, analysis, and reporting to support departmental decision-making
• Participates in project meetings, documents action items, and follows up on assigned tasks
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams to support the successful completion of departmental projects
• Supports the development and maintenance of procedures, guides, and other project resources
• Required to have prompt, regular attendance in person and be available to work on-site during regular business hours and as needed
• Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator or their representative
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
• Knowledge of basic project coordination principles and administrative practices
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Ability to learn project management software and other district technology applications
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet established deadlines
• Ability to analyze information and apply critical thinking to solve problems
• Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders
• Ability to prepare professional reports, presentations, and correspondence
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently while following established procedures and supervisor direction

PHYSICAL ABILITIES AND WORKING CONDITIONS
• Vision: Ability to read small print and view a computer screen for prolonged periods
• Hearing: Ability to tolerate exposure to noisy conditions
• Speech: Ability to be understood in face-to-face communications, to speak with a level of proficiency and volume to be understood over a telephone or computer
• Upper Body Mobility: Ability to use hands to grasp, and manipulate small objects; manipulate fingers, twist and bend at wrist and elbow; extend arms to reach outward and upward; use hands and arms to lift objects; turn, raise, and lower head
• Strength: Ability to lift, push, pull and/or carry objects which weigh as much as 5 or more pounds on a frequent basis. Incumbent may be required to physically restrain parties involved in a conflict
• Environmental Requirements: Ability to encounter constant work interruptions; work cooperatively with others; work independently; work indoors
