Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Team Lead to help to grow and split our AdTech development into two teams. The AdTech team is still at the beginning of its journey, however already 13 members strong and one of the fastest-growing teams & tech domains at Wolt. At this point, in order to facilitate a high level of cooperation and focus, we are splitting the team into two growing teams with some shared resources between them. You’d have a unique chance to jump to lead one of these teams together with our existing team lead in close cooperation. The AdTech teams have the responsibility of creating an advertising platform that will allow brands and merchants to connect with our highly engaged audience through our food delivery and other verticals. 

In terms of tech, Kotlin is the main backend programming language of the team, TypeScript and React for frontend, Swift & Kotlin for Native Mobile. In terms of architecture, we are taking into use event-driven solutions more and more (Kafka etc.), and it’s a work in progress so you will get to be part of making that happen for your team and the group. As for databases, we use PostgreSQL & Redis and collect lots of data into SnowFlake. Our SRE stack is built around DataDog. and it’s a work in progress so you will get to be part of making that happen for your team and the group. We work in a cross-functional environment and right now the team consists of a backend, frontend as well as a data scientist & analyst, and a Product Lead and we’re rapidly growing our ranks by looking to add more frontend and mobile competence during the rest of the year.

As a Team Lead, you'll be an inspirer, facilitator, and an enabler for the team to do what they do best, by running the development cycles of the team, help design the technical solutions, hosting regular 1on1s, and taking part in recruitment. In addition, you’ll get the opportunity to work alongside our colleagues at DoorDash as we build a unified advertising platform between our two companies.

📍This role can be based in one of our tech hubs in Helsinki, Berlin or Stockholm, or you can work remotely anywhere in Finland, Sweden, Germany, or Estonia. Read more about our remote setup here.
