Job Summary

Under general supervision of the Facilities Manager or higher, performs a wide variety of skilled repairs in the area of rough and finish carpentry, masonry, drywall installation, ceiling, floor and tile installation, lock installation and repairs, minor roof repairs, window replacements, wood and metal door installation repair as well as all other associated tasks that support the maintenance and upkeep of buildings, facilities and residences operated and/or owned by the District. Operates a variety of hand and powered tools such as saws, drills, sanders, etc. Reads and interprets blueprints and project specifications. Plans and troubleshoots work assignments and projects to determine equipment requirements. Obtains quotes from local retailers for needed construction material and retrieves and/or delivers materials to work sites. Operates vehicles and motorized equipment such as: forklift, bobcat, tractor, and street sweeper. Acts independently in the performance of assigned projects and provides daily upkeep of the job site and routine housekeep
