Sentara Health is currently seeking an Operations Coordinator at our Sentara Leigh Outpatient Wound Clinic in Norfolk, Virginia.

Hours/Shift: Full-Time, Days

Full-Time Outpatient Wound Clinic Ops Coordinator position; Position is also known as Front Desk Coordinator and includes registration of patients in EPIC and Wound Docs, answering phones, scheduling referrals, scheduling patient follow-up appointments, scanning consent forms, and obtaining insurance authorizations. Must have extensive computer skills, professional telephone etiquette, and the ability to work well with coworkers in a busy outpatient office environment.

Position Overview:

As an Operations Coordinator with Sentara, you will provide support to the Director/Manager in a clinical setting. This position's primary duties include office activities, supply ordering, covering the front desk, handling referrals, scheduling patients, obtaining insurance authorizations, and business financial activities. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service and communication skills, manage supplies/materials, understand, and perform accurate and timely data collection, and demonstrate effective use and maintenance of office equipment. You will find that teamwork is exceptional, with everyone working together to ensure the best care for our patients.

Experience Required:

Two Years of Clerical experience required

Experience Preferred:

Two Years of Secretarial experience preferred

Scheduling and Registration of patients in EPIC preferred

Knowledge of Medical Terminology preferred

Skills Required:

Oral and Written Communication Skills required

Operate basic office equipment required

Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities related to department operations for systems management, patient safety, quality outcomes, and customer service required

Education Required:

High School Diploma or equivalent required

Job Summary

Provides daily support to the operations of the department and administrative support to the Director/Manager. Assumes responsibility and accountability for office activities, including answering phones, scheduling patients and referrals, administrative, procurement, and business/financial activities. Must have extensive knowledge of the operations of the department to include educational programs, Sentara Healthcare systems, policies/procedures, and regulatory requirements. Supports the delivery of patient care and functions in a multi-disciplinary environment, which requires excellent communication and customer service skills.

Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities related to department operations for systems management, patient safety, quality outcomes and customer service. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to operate basic office equipment; copier, fax machine, computer, telephone. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

HS - High School Grad or Equivalent (Required)
