Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Local Driver to join our team at Central Transport. In this role, you will be responsible for transporting freight efficiently and safely within designated routes. Your contribution will be vital in ensuring our customers receive their shipments on time and in excellent condition.

Responsibilities

Safely operate a commercial vehicle to transport freight on local routes.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and compliance.
Load and unload freight as required, ensuring proper handling of goods.
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage and fuel consumption.
Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while on the road.
Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding route changes or delivery issues.

Requirements

Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) required.
Proven experience in truck driving or related field preferred.
Familiarity with freight handling procedures is a plus.
Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles is beneficial.
Strong communication skills for effective interaction with dispatch and customers.
