Mental Health Therapist, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist

SUMMARY
This is a full-time position within RS EDEN’s mental health and trauma recovery program, Minnesota Trauma Recovery Institute (MN-TRI). This is a full-time therapist position, specifically seeking a professional who is fully licensed as a Marriage & Family Therapist. This position is 40 hours per week and includes a caseload of individual, couples, and family clients. This position also may provide group therapy. This position will include (if already a board approved supervisor) or evolve to include to include supervisory responsibilities (once board approved supervisor status is gained). Therapists work collaboratively with the clinical team to provide high quality mental health services to individuals who may have justice involvement and trauma histories. Supervisors work collaboratively to support the mentorship and professional development of interns and pre-licensed therapists. Supervisors should are expected to help supervisees hone their clinical theory of change, deepen their understanding of trauma responsive care and work with self-of-the-therapist issues as the emerge. Therapy services are provided across several RS EDEN programs including in an outpatient mental health clinic, residential substance abuse treatment, reentry housing, and across individual and family supportive housing sites.
This position requires a clinician to have a passion for providing community-based services, a commitment to providing a high level of care to all clients, including those who are reluctant to receiving services, and to believe whole-heartedly in second chances and people’s capacity to heal. This position requires strong organizational skills, a basic understanding of the business realities of providing fee-for-service care, crave collaboration, teamwork, and is excited by both the challenges and prospects of implementing high quality mental health care into traditionally underserved settings.
Salary ranges from $65,000-$85,000 depending on experience and supervisor credentialing
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Meet with prospective clients and staff regularly.
- Maintain a caseload of 22 direct client hours per week (minimum) or supervision equivalent
- Conduct diagnostic assessments and create treatment plans.
- Complete and submit all documentation and client records according to organization policy and relevant state and federal laws.
- Provide high quality therapy services using evidenced based, trauma responsive, and systemic lenses.
- Collaborate with clinical team and interdisciplinary teams across RS EDEN programs.
- Complete training in Narrative Exposure Therapy (if not already trained) (training provided by RS EDEN).
- Attend and participate in all clinical staff meetings and trainings.
- Develop therapeutic alliance and partnership with agency staff.
- Develop and facilitate groups when needed.
- Develop and maintain therapeutic relationships with clients.
- Collaborate with team to promote a sustainable and caring work environment.
- Ensure appropriate coordination of care for clients and collaboration with other professionals.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Required:
- Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy
- A full and unrestricted Minnesota license as an LMFT
- A minimum of 5 years fully licensed as an LMFT
- MN MFT Board Approved Supervisor status preferred
- Experience with relational clients (couples, families, etc.) preferred
- Experience working with justice-involved individuals preferred
- Experience providing supervision of practitioners in an outpatient clinical setting preferred
- Must have a current driver’s license and the ability to pass a favorable driving background.
- Possess excellent interpersonal, organizational, written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to relate to persons from diverse backgrounds impacted by systems and barriers.
- Ability to work, problem solve and make decisions independently.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues to best support RS EDEN’s mission and vision.
- Ability to accurately utilize multiple data base systems.
- Fluent use of Microsoft office programs.
- Ability to multi-task and provide accurate information.
- Ability to perform duties discretely and observe program confidentiality policies.
