Raytheon currently has an exciting IT position available that supports the Raytheon mission of making the world a safer place.  We are currently seeking a Systems Administrator that will be working onsite in a highly collaborative, multi-platform and multi–disciplined environment. The Systems Administrator is required to have an active secret security clearance as they will be responsible for deploying and maintaining classified IT infrastructures. The candidate’s day-to-day activities include but are not limited to: Server management; storage management; file server management; access management; data backup; software and license configuration; and workstation support.  Each day in the life of a Systems Administrator can bring something new – building a new IT infrastructure for a group of engineers, restoring files due to an outage, updating virus definitions and security patches, teaming with our brilliant engineers on how to improve their processes, and more.

What You Will Do:

  • Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous RedHat Enterprise/Microsoft Windows and environment.

  • Lead and coordinate the Red Hat Installation and configuration.

  • Participate in all phases of Engineering software installation and support, with emphasis on testing, documentation, and acceptance phases.

  • Collaborate with teams and mentor junior Linux admins.

  • Apply understanding and knowledge of Windows Server internals or Linux fundamentals to include DNS, DHCP, AD, and server replication methods. 

  • Work as a team member in a fast-paced technological environment. Use troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of a moderate to high scope and complexity to include the integration of hardware and operating systems (OS).

  • Participate and lead technical meetings with team members and program personnel representing the organization in functional area matters.

  • Provide documentation and training on advanced IT processes and procedures and other tasks as assigned.

  • Responsible for provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software related to a Linux/Windows infrastructure for classified programs. Duties include, but are not limited to, server management (software and hardware); storage management (logical and physical); cross platform authentication and access management; data backup and restoration; software and license configuration; and workstation support

  • Work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements and provide documentation on advanced IT processes and procedures and other tasks as assigned. 

  • Must be able to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) within 6 months of start date.

  • Systems are operational 24x7 and occasionally require work effort beyond standard work hours

  • Full time 100% Onsite position

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experienc
