The Regional EHS Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and success of projects, aligning closely with various departments throughout the company. With a focus on delivering advanced automated solutions to customers, this role blends innovation with safety, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, robotic consensus standards, and other applicable industry best practices. The Regional EHS Manager is responsible for conducting comprehensive risk assessments, serving as the safety liaison for project teams and customers, and implementing proactive safety measures. The role also involves managing Major Project Safety Specialists and fostering a robust safety culture throughout the project lifecycle, from design to go-live and beyond. As the organization embraces cutting-edge technologies, the Regional EHS Manager is at the forefront of implementing and training on new safety procedures, emphasizing the importance of safety as a core value in the era of advanced automation.
The Regional EHS Manager will be responsible, at a minimum, to:
• Conduct risk assessments during the design phase of projects.
• Perform task-based risk assessments during implementation, aligning with customer expectations.
• Serve as the primary safety point of contact for project teams and customers.
• Manage Major Project Safety Specialists, when applicable.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits at project sites, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Attend project kick-off meetings to understand hazards, training needs, and resource allocation for safety support.
• Assist in the implementation and auditing of contractor management procedures.
• Promote and cultivate a robust safety culture among all project stakeholders.
• Implement proactive measures to prevent workplace accidents, including near misses.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations, consensus standards, as well as company specific EHS policies and procedures.
• Implement and train on new and existing processes/procedures with KPI employees and subcontractors.
• Lead or oversee investigations of accidents and incidents, documenting root causes and implementing corrective actions.
• Perform any additional job duties identified as in scope through the course of employment.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and standards.
• In-depth knowledge of ANSI, ISO, OSHA, and RIA standards.
• In-depth knowledge of automated systems and robotics.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to conduct thorough risk assessments and audits.
• Leadership and management skills.
• Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Proficiency in implementing and training in safety procedures.
• 5+ years of experience in Environmental Health and Safety roles, with a focus on project safety management.
• Experience in leading investigations and implementing corrective actions. Previous experience in a supervisory role is preferred.
• Will periodically manage Major Project Safety Specialists. Will provide leadership and guidance to project safety teams.
• Travel Requirements: 50-75% Travel
