Job Overview
The Associate, Retail Diversity Strategy supports and executes strategies to drive growth and development for women and diverse-owned businesses, including delivering The Workshop at Macy’s annually. This role drives multicultural merchandise and marketing initiatives by researching trends and providing supporting data that inform actionable strategies for multicultural customers. The Associate also manages project workflows related to the implementation, piloting, and expansion of retail diversity initiatives and The Workshop at Macy's.
What You Will Do
- Manage the logistics for executing The Workshop at Macy’s, collaborating with key internal partners and external stakeholders to ensure a seamless annual program.
- Work with merchant partners across the organization to identify growth opportunities by vendor and category, serving as a liaison between vendor partners and merchants.
- Coordinate with merchant partners and marketing teams to develop and implement strategies that increase awareness of diverse-owned brands through Macy's Inc. marketing activations.
- Facilitate the vendor onboarding process and support the growth of the business and Macy’s partnerships.
- Attend trade shows and conventions to reinforce the company's commitment to the growth of Minority Women Business Enterprises (MWBEs) and seek new talent.
- Ensure compliance with the Supplier Diversity policy by tracking, monitoring, and updating MWBE documentation and establishing a communication schedule for policy changes.
- Track and publish MWBE performance metrics on a monthly, seasonal, and annual basis.
- Research and present multicultural trends and insights to support strategies targeting multicultural customers.
- Communicate and present information to key stakeholders, including senior management.
- Maintain regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.

Marketing Acumen: Knowledge of marketing strategies to increase awareness of diverse-owned brands.
Vendor Management: Experience facilitating the vendor onboarding process and managing partnerships.
Results-Oriented: A self-motivated individual with a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail.
Leadership Skills: Excellent leadership and facilitation skills to guide diverse groups and achieve results.
Strategic Thinking: Ability to think creatively and strategically to drive growth and development initiatives.
Compliance Knowledge: Understanding of Supplier Diversity policies and the ability to ensure compliance through effective documentation and communication.
Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft applications, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
Presentation Skills: Ability to present information clearly and concisely to key stakeholders, including senior management.
Commitment to Diversity: Passion for supporting the growth of Minority Women Business Enterprises (MWBEs) and understanding of small business advocacy.
Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail in tracking and reporting performance metrics.
