Job Description:
JSL Technologies is seeking Technical Manual Support Specialists to provide technical manual support services at Port Hueneme, CA (PHD). The position supports the development, management, training, and implementation of Technical Manual Management Program (TMMP) requirements, Advanced Technical Information Support (ATIS), Model Based Product Support (MBPS), and S1000D standards for Navy technical manual products and related technical data.
• Attend NAVSEA Instruction 4160.3 series implementation meetings, S1000D implementation meetings, TDMIS-related TMMP/ATIS/MBPS implementation meetings, and general TMMP/ATIS/MBPS integration meetings.
• Provide logistics management, technical editing, and TMMP/MBPS support for the development, management, training, and implementation of TMMP, MBPS, and S1000D requirements.
• Prepare meeting minutes for attended meetings and provide written minutes to management.
• Develop proposed schedules, documentation development plans, and draft documentation used in the production of TMMP/ATIS/MBPS implementation materials.
• Develop documentation to define new TMMP processes and requirements for implementation of new NAVSEA Instruction 4160.3 series issuances.
• Provide expertise and technical recommendations regarding TMMP process implementation and support TMMP and Technical Manual Management Activity (TMMA) performance requirements.
• Perform desktop reviews, in-process reviews, verification and validation reviews, and quality assurance reviews of Electronic Technical Manuals (ETMs) and/or source data in accordance with NAVSEA Instruction 4160.3 series requirements.
• Review SGML/XML data, standards, guidance, direction, processes, and correspondence; prepare review comments, draft standards, directions, and recommendations for SGML/XML technical manual development, review, and distribution across NAVSEA, NAVWAR, and NAVAIR programs.
• Perform ETM structure development in TMMP/ATIS/MBPS and provide ETM production assessments, including recommendations for S1000D implementation.
• Process completed IETM and ETM structures for reproduction, printing, distribution, and source-data storage in compliance with applicable NAVSEA, OPNAV, and ATIS compatibility requirements.
• Support the Navy Contenta technical manual production and content management system, including XML repository data management and technical data knowledge management initiatives.
• Prepare technical comments and recommendations related to SGML, XML, HTML, and PDF production software applications, guidelines, and infrastructure to support TMMP/MBPS products.
• Participate in process improvement and efficiency efforts affecting the cost, schedule, and performance of TMMP/ATIS/MBPS products and services.
• Identify product and process change candidates to improve technical manual accuracy, usability, interoperability, and TMMP support services.
• Support the preparation and delivery of revisions to existing Government documents, technical reports, technical data reports, and meeting minutes as required.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need of employer sponsorship now or at any time in the future.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance level Secret.
• Experience developing, reviewing, editing, or managing technical manuals, electronic technical manuals, interactive electronic technical manuals, source data, or technical documentation.
• Experience performing technical reviews, quality assurance reviews, verification and validation reviews, or in-process reviews of technical documentation or technical data.
