The Radiology Clinical Facilitator performs a wide variety of routine duties including clerical, technical and patient related functions. Is responsible for assisting members of the patient care team and providing a broad range of health care services such as: patient check-in, exam review, preparation for the visit, patient education, assistance with exams and procedures, and patient transporting. The Facilitator is trained to use a wide variety of computer systems. The Radiology Clinical Facilitator may be assigned to work in a variety of imaging sections, assist multiple radiology modalities and/or clinical services per operational needs. Must be able to resolve conflict and endure the pressures associated with a high volume and changing work environment. Will assist adults, geriatric, adolescents, and pediatric age groups and performs patient assessment within the scope of practice. The exams may be performed in the various Radiology Imaging sections and at a variety of clinical sites.
Schedule: Full-time
Tuesday - Friday from 11am to 8pm and 8am to noon on Saturday.
Patient Care:
The Radiology Clinical Facilitator is competent in assisting with imaging workflow.
Aids patients pre and post diagnostic exams, performs clerical duties including scheduling, maintains high quality services; thus, leading to the best possible patient experience.
Analysis and Communication:
Communicates effectively with patients/families and all care providers.
Interacts with staff and providers, in a manner that promotes positive working relationships.
Checks the order for complete information and appropriateness criteria.
Schedules exams as needed.
Obtains sufficient information to determine whether the procedure should be performed immediately or within a specific time frame.
Adheres to established section and organizational protocols, QA guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
Assist with coordinating work assignments to ensure a smooth workflow.
Imaging Exams:
Sets up the imaging room to coincide with the examination being performed to include the use of proper isolations precautions when needed.
Verifies two patient identifiers.
Provide quality customer service, explains exams to patients in a clear manner, and provide information and resources to patient and family.
Safely transfers patient to and from beds, stretchers, and wheelchairs utilizing multiple lifting devices.
Positions the patient, ensuring patient comfort and modesty.
Responsibilities Supporting Patient Care:
Exhibits caring attitude when relating to patients.
Engages in professional and ethical conduct.
Maintains a clean, orderly, well-stocked exam and dressing rooms.
Rotate within departments and clinics for proper coverage.
Notifies appropriate staff when equipment malfunctions.
Assists patients with limited mobility pre and post exams e.g., gowning, dressing or with DME equipment etc.
Other:
Performs other duties as assigned.

Demonstrates analytical thinking – this role requires analyzing information and using logic to coordinate work within schedule constraints and handle emergent requirements in a timely manner.
Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Office and database programs.
Physically able to transport patients by wheelchair/stretcher and provide patient lifting assistance.
Medical terminology Preferred experience with excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or GED is required. Associate’s degree preferred.
