Job Description

As a Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our data pipelines and infrastructure. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that our data is available, accessible, and reliable; mainly for generating Power BI reports and other analytical needs for internal stakeholders.

Your contribution to something big:

Designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines using technologies such as Kafka, Airflow, and Kubernetes;
Collaborating with internal stakeholders to understand their data requirements and ensure data is delivered efficiently;
Building data connectors and integrations for various data sources, including MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and other databases;
Developing and optimizing ETL processes to transform and load data from source systems into our data warehouse;
Implementing data quality checks and validation using Great Expectations to ensure data integrity and accuracy;
Writing and optimizing SQL queries for data retrieval and transformation;
Developing custom data applications using Python, Java, and Springboot;
Managing and optimizing our data storage solutions to ensure data is secure and available;
Continuously monitoring, tuning, and improving data pipelines for performance and scalability;
Collaboration to deliver Power BI reports and dashboards to internal stakeholders;
Documenting data engineering processes, standards, and best practices.

Qualifications

What distinguishes you:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field;
Proven experience in data engineering and working with the specified tech stack;
Strong knowledge of data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts;
Strong proficiency in SQL for data manipulation and transformation;
Expertise in Python and Java for building custom data solutions;
Experience with Kubernetes, Kafka, and Airflow for managing data pipelines, in Azure cloud infrastructure;
Experience with working in cloud environments, in particular Azure;
Experience with Infrastructure as Code such as Terraform or Pulumi;
Familiarity with data storage solutions MongoDB and PostgreSQL;
Knowledge of Power BI for creating and delivering reports to stakeholders;
Understanding of data quality and validation using tools like Great Expectations;
Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong attention to detail;
Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams;
Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment;
Experience with data governance, compliance, and security practices is a plus.
