PATH’s Malaria and Neglected Tropical Diseases program is a leader in the effort to end malaria illnesses and deaths, refines and develops tools and approaches, invests in national programs, and builds data to empower national governments to pursue malaria elimination.

The Program Associate, Malaria & Neglected Tropical Diseases (MNTD) supports an evolving portfolio of grant-funded projects related to malaria control and elimination and neglected tropical diseases as well as new business efforts. The anticipated portfolio includes a project on NTD surveillance and supporting a multi-country project focused on reducing severe disease and deaths from malaria, lower respiratory infections, and diarrhea. The Program Associate will report to the MNTD Senior Project Manager, and will work closely with the MNTD Deputy Director, Responsible Project Managers (RPMs) and Project Administrators (PADM) within MNTDs.

We are seeking an organized and collaborative team player who brings a detail-oriented approach to supporting the project lifecycle. Success in this position requires the ability to liaise closely with project leadership to support administrative and operational needs, while also supporting the development of project deliverables in accordance with annual work plans and the project schedule. 

Responsibilities:

Project Management  

• Develop production timelines for the completion of deliverables (reports, presentations, protocols), including support to outlines, formatting and proofreading as requested
• Support human subjects research administration and reporting including IRB submission and upload of compliance documents in accordance with PATH’s Office of Research Affairs
• Plan logistics activities which may include scheduling internal and external meetings, workshops, and other events as necessary, as well as coordinating event-related logistics
• Support maintenance of project management resources, such as activity trackers, risk and issue logs, list of internal and external project contacts and team calendars
• Participate in project meetings, distribute meeting agendas, take meeting minutes, and assist in following up on recommendations or actions
• Work with the procurement and operations team to solicit vendor quotations, prepare documentation necessary procurement documentation in accordance with PATH policy

Business Development

• Manage data quality for MNTD new business opportunities in Salesforce, ensuring proposal leads are routinely updating the records
• Prepare Salesforce reports and dashboards to help MNTD leadership track new business opportunities
• Support knowledge management for new opportunities, in partnership with proposal lead (i.e., create opportunity record if not already created, create box folder, create timelines for positioning or proposal development when needed)
• Support specific new business opportunities as proposal manager or in an assisting role, ensuring that proposal timelines are established and maintained, supporting communications across the proposal team, tracking components of proposals, managing process flow of proposals, as well as inputting into the proposals as aligned with skills and experience

Strategic communications and stakeholder coordination  

• Package information from research, stakeholder conversations, and thought leadership into high-quality and clear presentations, reports, and publications  
• Contribute to the proofreading and editing of project findings, publications, guidance documents, presentations, and donor reports   
• Engage closely with MNTD country teams and in-country partners to develop a deep understanding of the project objectives and delivering on key project outcomes 
• Develop regular and ad hoc project/program communications for external and internal audiences, including PATH leadership and donors
