AT&T is looking for a Corporate Program Safety Manager to develop and implement comprehensive environmental, health, and safety programs and ensure regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, and a safe workplace culture.
What you’ll do:
- Work within the EHSS framework to create and implement industrial hygiene and safety programs for the site, such as biological, chemical, and physical hazards; ergonomics; medical monitoring; respiratory protection; and indoor air quality.
- Develop and lead AT&T’s Lead Safety Program in accordance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.1025 and Cal/OSHA Title 8 §5198, including identification of legacy infrastructure and related risk mitigation.
- Oversee site assessments, exposure evaluations, and hazard control strategies for lead-containing materials, especially in support of the CA Lead Standard.
- Implement and manage medical surveillance for lead exposure including blood lead level monitoring, physician evaluations, and follow-up in compliance with state and federal standards.
- Ensure availability and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) for lead-related work, including respiratory protection, and provide program oversight of fit-testing and training.
- Collaborate with Legal, Communications, and Business Unit leadership to support internal and external reporting requirements related to lead safety initiatives.
- Serve as key member of team to support health and safety compliance actions, including executive level-briefings, documentation, and risk mitigation planning.
- Conduct root cause analysis to identify and address potential safety hazards across multiple disciplines.
- Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and develop corrective actions.
- Collaborate with management to develop training programs on safety practices and procedures, including lead awareness and hazard communication.
- Provide guidance and support to employees on safety-related matters, including job-specific risk management and exposure prevention.
- Prepare reports on safety performance using safety activity data and operational trends for executive review.
- Create and lead initiatives to reduce DART, TRIR, and workers’ compensation costs across the organization.
- Analyze health and safety data and prepare executive-level insights to inform risk-based decision-making.
What you’ll need:
- In-depth knowledge of EHS regulations, including OSHA and Cal/OSHA lead safety standards and workers’ compensation laws.
- Proven experience developing and managing Industrial Hygiene and Occupational Safety programs, including hazard assessments and control strategies.
- Experience in managing large scale industrial hygiene safety programs or similar high-risk exposure management initiatives.
- Demonstrated leadership in coordinating medical surveillance and PPE programs for regulated substances.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct root cause analysis and exposure risk assessments.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively train and guide employees on safety practices.
What you’ll bring:
- 5+ years of related experience.
- Proficiency in report writing, recordkeeping, and legal documentation.
- Has attained or is pursuing a professional safety certification (e.g., CSP, CIH); other relevant certifications are desirable.
- Experience in policy development, executive reporting, and cross-functional collaboration.
