This role is part of the Lunar Transportation business unit, which develops Blue Origin’s multiple Blue Moon lander product lines. To further Blue Origin's mission of having millions of people living and working in space, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface. 

As part of a hardworking team of diverse engineers, you will design and build the Hardware and software test assets for our Lunar Lander.  The test assets will provide an environment to integrate the electronics and software for system development, verification, and validation. This will include software simulations and hardware emulators, as well as software for interfacing with these simulators and emulators.

• Electrical/Computer engineer with a strong software background preferred

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Design and code automated test equipment software to support formal and informal verification of avionics requirements (qualification and acceptance testing)
• Create and release drawings of the test hardware infrastructure, rack layouts, harnesses, breakout boxes/panels, power distribution, and grounding.
• Participate in the requirements, design, and architecture
• Develop software for various prototype objectives
• Integrate software models, sensor drivers, and hardware emulators
• Support the integration of flight avionics, operator consoles, and test equipment to verify the requirements and performance of the flight software
• Support problem investigation and resolution
• Establish and follow software development processes to ensure test equipment software is reliable, released and configuration managed

Minimum Qualifications:

• B.S. degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering or related technical degree
• Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
• Proficiency in the use of standard electronic lab test equipment (oscilloscopes, DMMs, power meters, data acquisition cards, etc)
• Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion 
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience designing avionics labs, electrical ground support equipment, and/or test assets for hardware in the loop testing
• Familiarity with sensors including linear variable differential transformers, resistance temperature detectors, thermocouples, pressure transducers, and resolvers
• Experience with IP networking (IEEE 802.3)
• Experience with communications protocol RS-422/485
• Experience planning, executing, and reporting electronics testing

 

Compensation Range for:

WA applicants is $99,445.00-$139,222.65
